O Klanada
Yeah I agree. So does that make all military conflict that crosses a national border imperialism or does it not?
“Oh yeah well it’s not happening every day” dude it’s fine that there are groups of people in the US who fear execution by their government who you forgot about. Nobody remembers everyone all the time, but it’s weird to get argumentative and start moving goalposts about it.
So what I’m getting from this definition is that any military action across a national border for any reason other than, i guess, pure moral altruistim, is imperialism. Is that the conclusion you mean to build to?
No I think they would and did use it to apply political pressure and relieve military pressure from other fronts by drawing enemy reserves. “Trade it for the Donbas” what are you nine?
What were the imperialist reasons?
Okay, so were the D-Day landings imperialism, yes or no?
Black Panthers, BLM organizers, anti ICE protestors
Something which the good people at Radio Free Asia have assured me is totally real and definitely happens
Imperialism: The practice of states to expand their influence beyond their sovereign borders.
So…WW2. The invasion of Normandy by the allied powers. Imperialism?
This has the vibe of “Hmm, today I will bomb millions of civillians to death”
The whole country is the size of like Colorado
Leverage my man
Allow me to facetiously talk about the US the way people from this country typically talk about the DPRK:
How do we know they don’t kill hundreds of thousands of protestors a year? The repressive government regime hides any information that makes it look bad, such as job reports, climate reports, and war casualties. They’ve got concentration camps all over and people dissappear all the time. There’s just no way we can trust their numbers.
Love the weird scale of threat depicted here.
-smol bean megacorporation
-regular bean fbi man
-Big Hacker, the big hacker lobbyist
-giant evil FOREIGNER with their evil UNIFORM and MEDALS
-ect, other guys, artist kind of blew his load drawing all those evil medals
Like the scale implies I should be most worried about the biggest guy, but I live in America. The feds are the biggest threat to me. You can tell this wasn’t drawn by a leftist because…well, almost everything, but mostly because of how normal they seem to think the FBI is, and how small a deal being spied on by them apparently is compared to being spied on by someone that doesn’t have the capacity to send a death squad to my apartment at any moment.
Liberals and western “leftists” use the idea as a thought terminating cliche, hiding behind it to avoid recognizing when two diametrically opposed things are in fact not equally bad.
When the “lesser” evil is an openly genocidal liberal politician, they bang on and on about how it’s tactical and a step in a direction and trolley problem and blah blah blah.
But when the lesser evil is a state they’ve been taught to villify? Oh buddy, don’t you know two things can be bad at once? I hate all sides equally! (but only repeat the narratives of one).
In addition to climate change, i consider this one of the biggest reasons we socialists are on the clock: it’s an existential race to eliminate these motherfuckers and dismantle their system before they kill the earth and/or rule immortal over degraded neofeudal fiefdoms .
Honestly the eternal youth fountain isn’t as wild as people think, temporary age reversal has been achieved at the cellular level in labs and the science is moving fast.
This is you deciding what you want to be true in the face of all evidence to the contrary to preserve the very simplistic good guys/bad guys narrative you prefer.
