Just in time for USA to ban it again…hey, I don’t agree with it, but look who’s president. Look at his base. You’re telling me you feel confident he won’t do that?

Relax, that won’t happen. The Supreme Court would have to overturn its own ruling. Judges don’t like to be seen flip-flopping. Meanwhile the Republicans in Congress are spineless and Trump is a narcissist. These are not the conditions for doing things that are widely unpopular.

The current court has already done that for abortion. You think they won’t do it again?

The abortion decision had been on the table for decades. Probably won’t happen here, not so soon. And if it does, then a proper law will be necessary, which would certainly happen if and when the Democrats get back control of Congress.

PS. People come to this community for “uplifting news” but seem to be itching to downvote any hint of optimism! I’m just giving my view as an informed outsider. You’re welcome to your pessimism but just remember that pessimism alone has never changed anything.

Justice* Thomas has already stated that they judged wrong on Obergfell v Hodges and wants another bite at the apple. And optics is a thing for other branches of government (lol) given how much wild and open corruption we’re seeing. No, I don’t believe my marriage is “settled law” or that the justices want to avoid flip flopping. They’ll do as their owners tell them.
