With centralized exchanges increasingly requiring extensive KYC and many delisting XMR entirely, peer-to-peer trading has become the primary way to acquire and sell Monero in 2026.

Current P2P landscape:

  • Haveno DEX — Most popular option. Two main instances: RetosSwap (higher volume, 15% deposits, established arbitrator) and DawnSwap (lower deposits at 5%, faster 24/7 arbitration). Both use 2-of-3 multisig escrow.

  • OpenMonero — LocalMonero-style marketplace that launched after LM shut down. Zero fees, CBM and F2F supported.

  • XMRBazaar — Classifieds-style marketplace (11,000+ listings, zero fees). Manual negotiation between parties. Good for established traders.

  • BasicSwapDEX — Atomic swaps for BTC↔XMR. No intermediaries at all, but technical and slower (30-60 min).

Cash by Mail (CBM) has emerged as the dominant payment method for privacy-conscious traders in Europe. Physical cash sent via registered post, tracked, with photo documentation. No digital trail.

Has anyone here used Haveno recently? Curious about experiences with the two main instances.
