    Not really. “A year to get a job” is just not what most of us are observing for devs with 10 years of experience, so it’s natural to think something is odd here.

      Just watched several friends take two+ years to get a job, with FAANG on their resume and over a decade of experience, in the US. You probably have some selection bias.

        Possibly. Several people I know were laid off and had a job in a month… I don’t know anyone that hunted for more than a few…

        Edit: I also don’t think FAANG on your resume makes you more hireable than anyone else unless maybe another FAANG? The main thing it shows is you are going to ask for more money.
