I think the best thing you can do is to ignore omarchy.
Considering how often it’s mentioned on Lemmy that’s pretty hard tho…
That was my point. You are giving this project a lot of free visibility.
Fascism grows in silence, it should be combatted. If fascism is all people see, it becomes normalised. It wasn’t defeated in the past by people doing nothing.
And businesses grow with exposure. And celebrity grows with attention.
While I find DHH’s views odious, I have to recognize that they are not that unusual nor obviously baked into his software project. There is no particular benefit to howling about the free Linux distribution that he’s developing on the grounds that he has bad politics.
Unless you can tie the development of the operating system to the explicit promotion of those odious views or the creation of actual material harm then you are just generating noise that at best informs the highly unpopular minority of people who give a shit about the political perspectives of the person who delivers their fucking milk, and at worst serves as a positive advertisement for the project because it’s upsetting people that everybody doesn’t like anyway.
