    Keep in mind that Nigeria is the 15th largest oil-producing state, at 1.65 million barrels of oil per day in 2024, just behind #14 Qatar with 1.8 million barrels, and #13 Kazakhstan with 1.9 million barrels.

    Nigeria should be wealthy, and rolling in cash.

    In 2017, a civil complaint filed by the US Department of Justice requested the recovery of over $100 million (€97 million) in assets suspected of being obtained through bribes to the former minister for petroleum resources.

    100 fucking million? Holy shit… If that’s just the bribe, imagine the amount of money they actually exfiltrated from the country!
