We got some good exercise in while it was still warm. She did very well and was wonderfully behaved.

The stalls do look very prison-like, but almost every horse gets out for exercise daily and they’re all very happy and spoiled as all hell.

You cannot morally justify chaining up a sentient breathing creature for your own amusement.

Your justification is exactly the same excuse the Chinese Communist Party uses to detain uyghurs saying “they’re painting, they’re having a good time”

The gall of imprisoning someone and saying they’re “spoiled”

True! We rented time at the arena in town last year and it was nice because it was out of the wind and the ground wasn’t frozen. Still cold, I wanted to wear a glove on my rein hand!

I have a few pairs of gloves for different barn purposes. A waterproof pair with a grippy material for watering, regular winter gloves for general activities, and a very thin but warm pair with grippy palms and touchscreen finger things for riding.

The back of my car has essentially become a tack/supply room. The latest edition is the saddle I just got.

Here you go! I got the blanket for her last month because I learned she didn’t have her own and was wearing another horse’s blanket. I saw it online and knew it was for her because it matches her halter lol.

She’s not. I volunteer at the stables she’s at and was told by the owner of the place that I can interact with her because her owner doesn’t ever come see her. So me and this old guy have informally adopted her. We make sure she gets let out of her stall almost every day, and I exercise her and groom her. I’m also working on teaching her proper barn manners and desensitizing her to certain things that make her nervous. She’s very old, but still has a lot of pep and needs worked with so she can live longer.

If you would have gotten that photo at an ever so slightly different angle, the light glare could have made her look like a unicorn.

I was really trying for that but she wasn’t cooperating lol. She just wanted to get attention and go for a walk. She has a lot of pent up energy and I haven’t been able to help her exercise it out lately because the weather has been way too cold for either of us to do anything.
