I for one welcome our alien overlords.

Hey man, we don’t all keep up with controller news. This is your opportunity to provide good news about this to someone. No need to be harsh.

Yup. I could tell by the trailers that it was completely different and super arcadey. I waited to play it at a friend’s house before considering buying it and once I felt the driving for the first time, I never touched the game again. It just killed so much of the fun for me.

The amazing vehicle everything physics.
The best driving there was in any game outside the simcade titles like Gran Turismo/Forza.
It wasn’t crazy realistic but it was realistic enough to be believable and very fun. Poor driving had consequences in that game. Felt legit as hell. I loved the floaty commuter car suspensions haha
It’s called a Thorn and Sxan likes to use them instead of “th”.
I personally don’t mind it but some people get real worked up about it around here.

I always liked the time-based skilling in EVE. You don’t have to grind for skills. I really enjoyed that game for a few years.

When do we start boycotting any companies that behave like this? We need a fucking class-action lawsuit against this behavior.
Just use the harmonic minor or phrygian dominant scales instead of vanilla major or minor and you’re off to the races.

Oh man, I played Carmageddon so much as a kid.
Sounds like something a dude named Deviled Egg Dan would do.

Might need to circle back on that one.
There’s nothing wrong with being content where you’re at. Your mental health is more important than a better wage, IMO.

Derivative over generative any day if you ask me.
A truly brutal experience I’ll never revisit.

I know what you mean, but they’re going to abandon it eventually, right? What matters is how they abandon it; what they leave behind. Currently, they leave nothing for the playerbase.
If they need to retire the live service to move forward, so be it. But if I wanna boot up a server for a night of gameplay with friends on some retired game I should be able to do so.
Allowing dedicated servers after said live service retirement is the fix.

Exactly this. It would obviously be disappointing to lose leaderboards or any other massively multiplayer elements like that, but just being able to fire up the game and have fun with friends after the live service has shut down is basically all that needs to happen.

“It’s a weird, challenging problem, though, because I think that at the same time, if we’re going to have any games that are sincere live services, it seems mutually exclusive to have something that’s going to be a living thing that can’t be allowed to die. I don’t know how to get around that.”
Dedicated servers. Let people host their own servers. How is this so fucking hard to understand? When the company is ready to move on and retire their official servers they can do so without invoking ire from the playerbase.

Exactly. Maybe I could have given more context but I wrote that comment right before my flight took off.
Which is a shame, because TES’ lore is incredible.
