Local shows. I used to go to 3 or 4 a week.
I stopped doing that around 2017 because I was getting too tired. More like two or three a month.
None anymore though. I have kids now and I moved away, there’s no venues out here.
By “concerts” do you mean a big production in a stadium or theatre/hall with seating and tickets are $80/person, that kind of thing? I’ve never been to one.
Appimage. I oily use a few of them, and manage them with GearLever.
I think you’ll find nearly every significant FOSS project will have American contributors software in its development. Typically, anyone who can code and wants to contribute can do so.
What are you talking about being downvoted for that. Ubuntu is not well-liked and switching it out is a common suggestion.
I didn’t know these two girls because they were a few years older, but I knew other kids who did know them. Wasn’t good.
We’d grab our bikes and ride across town. If they saw our bikes were gone they knew we’d be back later.
After the abduction and murder of two local girls, this wasn’t so accepted anymore. Kids were still out and about, but you’d get grilled about where you go, who you’re with, where are you coming home. You were supposed to be at someone’s house, mum would call and make sure that’s where you were. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bega_schoolgirl_murders
I don’t see any kids out around town anymore now though. Just the ones that walk from the bus stop to their house after school. That might just say more about todays youth culture though.
Any project is beneficial if someone is passionate about doing it.
The “this person shouldn’t work on this project, they should work on something that benefits me” line is selfish as hell.
If the projects you see aren’t the projects you want, then DIY. But don’t tell people they wasted their time because you don’t want to use their software.
Are you implying that no younger bands are introspective, or share their thoughts in the world via their songs, because your favourite genre isn’t popular?
Seems like a very bad take.
Don’t try to use it, it’s an old discontinued version of SteamOS based on Debian that was around long before the Steam Deck.
Bazzite will get you a similar experience to the current Steam OS with better desktop experience.
As you’ve been daily driving Linux for 7 years already, I don’t understand what issues you think you’ll have with Arch?
Worth trying Only Office and Libre Office side by side to see which one works better for your workflow.
They typically target transgender people or people with autism, And try to drive them to suicide. Because they think it’s funny.
They shared the manifesto of the Christchurch mosque shooter.
I’m not going into details about the people that have died. I’ll never forget refreshing my feed and the post about Near’s death appearing right in front of me.
Don’t feel conflicted. These are edgelords who want people to suffer for their amusement. But they’re organised and will carry out actions in real-life.
And I ask this because I’ve seen too much of their shit spread for years now; please don’t share links to their website. Know your enemy, but be smart about it.
My short to medium future is looking for a new job, and then working. So it’s looking like a bleak forecast.
But I have obtained all my childhood Lego sets, and my older daughter is just nearing 4 1/2 years, so I’m looking forward to showing her how to do this.
I don’t know if you cancan call it underrated, but bacon and egg is the best pizza
I bought the iPhone 13 mini as my first ever iPhone, because it was better sized than the android alternatives.
I’m seriously considering a feature phone instead for when this one eventually goes.
Would 2010s kids know what Teddy Ruxpin is? My partner was born ‘91 and she didn’t even know what it was.
Yes, a few songs from bands I’m not really that into, but great memories when I hear them.
Pinch Me by Bare Naked Ladies reminds me of sitting around in my friends room whilst he downloaded songs on Napster.
Every You Every Me by Placebo reminds me of a particular girls bedroom back in high school and the way she used to spray her deodorant everywhere before I visited.
Smells Like Teen Spirit just generally reminds me of old high school friends, the three of us - a punker, a metal head, and… all I can really say is, he liked the Prodigy… but we could all agree on putting on Nirvana and having a good time.
For anyone who is unaware of Kiwifarms…
“Kiwi Farms, formerly known as CWCki Forums (/ˈkwɪki/ KWIH-kee), is a web forum that facilitates the harassment of online figures and communities. Their targets are often subject to organized group trolling and stalking, as well as doxing and real-life harassment.[3][4][5] Kiwi Farms has been tied to the deaths of three people who were victims of harassment and died by suicide.[6][7][8]”
I haven’t used the Chicago theme, but if you’re in KDE, the Reactionary Plus theme is spot on and works great.
