Especially with big dogs where you’re picking up fresh, steaming, human-sized turds with nothing but a few microns of plastic between it and your hand.

Linux@lemmy.ml•PhotoGIMP - The Photoshop Like Experience on GIMP
361·3 days agoAs someone with no PS experience or other baggage weighing me down, I find the default UI to be insanely unintuitive. Im not even sure what the panels on the right or bottom are for, the left toolbar panel randomly disappears on me occasionally and I can never figure out how to get it back without closing and reopening GIMP. Things like Crop don’t seem to do anything obvious. Painting with the brush doesn’t work unless you first use the selection tool to draw a box around the area you want to use the brush. Etc, etc, etc. Some of this is obviously just because I’m a novice, and I manage to fumble my way through things, but at the same time it could be drastically simplified for simple tasks. It feels like a tool that was built for people who already knew how to use it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the most repairable "thing" you own?
2·4 days agoMy guess is a low cost, thin cast iron pan
This definitely seems like one of those jokes where they thought of the punchline first and then worked backwards.
So I’m guessing the sign was actually made by an office coordinator or project manager as a practical joke.
We dont know how far along they are in their comedic education, so it could have been a theoretical joke.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to differentiate between a AGI and an LLM that has read every book in existence?
2·1 month agoIm talking about face to face. When you speak to someone online it becomes a lot blurrier but I would err on the side of an LLM until proven otherwise.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to differentiate between a AGI and an LLM that has read every book in existence?
2·1 month agoBecause as far as we know currently only humans have sentience so if you’re talking to a human you know it does, and if you’re talking to anything else, you know it doesn’t.

8·1 month agoOl’ Henry Hammerdick pounding a mound might not fly too well either.
“How do car get pregunte?”
That’s what I’m wondering. Everything about it screams “dumpster” but then why does it have those giant, trap-like appendages?

Funny@sh.itjust.works•At Least We Owned the Libs (McSweeney’s Internet Tendency)
312·2 months agoI get what the author is trying to do here, but as someone who sees the neolibs making up a bulk of the Democratic party as little more than extensions of the goons running the Republican party, I can’t help but read this satire as if it’s some genocide loving, corporate mouthpiece lib whining because they lost their elected position, power, and status.

Funny@sh.itjust.works•I'm not sure what this means but I am afraid
3·2 months agoMaybe you’re right we have a Samsung oven but a GE microwave. I just know the buttons resemble one of them and that our oven started throwing error codes about a year after we got it.

3·2 months agoLooks like a Samsung oven too, which are prone to all kinds of errors and malfunctions.
There are two types of absolutists in the world.
- Only the Sith deal in absolutes
With something as big as a watermelon, a full-size shower cap would probably work best.

Funny@sh.itjust.works•[ExtraFabulous] Ever think of how they feel?
1·2 months agoFYI: vasectomies don’t “go great” as a “simple procedure”…
Seems like a pretty absolute statement with no room for alternatives to me.

Funny@sh.itjust.works•[ExtraFabulous] Ever think of how they feel?
1·2 months agoI made my point quite clearly in my last comment.
You’re saying your doctor warned you about this risk, but then didn’t believe it was real when you were one of the unlucky ones to be affected by it? Again your gripe seems to be with the doctor not the procedure.

Funny@sh.itjust.works•[ExtraFabulous] Ever think of how they feel?
2·2 months agoNobody said the procedure is risk free. It’s misinformation to claim that vasectomies never go well and arent simple procedures. For a vast majority of people, that’s exactly what they are. Any medical procedure including vaccinations comes with a certain amount of risk. You’re taking a miniscule risk and blowing it up into something that it isn’t.
They sound made up but convey the meaning well enough. “Talk about your experience with Bible-thumping peers”
