Stoat, both its app and website refuse to open on my mobile data. I doubt it’s only happening to me. Teamspeak at least lets people host and have control of their own servers.

Another point, I am against purchasing the switch 2, as I am any new device using rechargeable lithium ion batteries. A large amount of the supply chain is mined via slave labor in Congo, and there’s not a good way to determine if it was or wasn’t. Better to use the device you already have.

I see where you’re coming from, but I think this attitude is rather shortsighted. Emulation is about much more than piracy, and I for example, run my switch library on my pc. I have my switch, and it’s essentially a game dumping device because I have such a better experience running those games on an emulator. Why should I spend money on another switch or a switch 2 to still have a worse experience than I’m getting now? Modding my games is easy, I can use and rebind any controller I want, and run most of my games without having to swap to another device. I also care about the long term preservation of my games, and unfortunately my switch won’t last forever, it’s already in rough shape as is. As far as switch 2, work on emulation now is going to make the preservation of their games long term possible. Emulating switch 2 doesn’t mean you don’t own one, or purchase your games, not by default. Ultimately though, even if someone pirates their games for switch 2, Nintendo is fine monetarily. They’ll be okay.

As a hobby, go in without expectations. Share the games you like, talk about things you find interesting. As a small streamer you won’t get a lot of viewership right away, but don’t worry about it. As long as you’re having fun that’s what matters.

They just won’t function properly. There are permissions problems and while some games might work, you will run into games that simply won’t launch, or that have regular crashes, among other issues. I recommend installing the games you want to play on Linux there, and the ones you can’t on windows.

Just putting the ISO directly into the ventoy folder on the USB should just work, it’s odd that you had to mount it and drag the files. If you’re trying to use games installed on one drive between windows and Linux, I do not recommend attempting that. Windows can’t natively read Linux drive formats like ext4, and if you try to play games on an NTFS drive on Linux you WILL run into problems. Your cloud saves should just work normally though.

I’ve had a lot of success using Ventoy for my USB drive writing needs. Every steam game has it’s own folder for it’s virtual windows directory. You want to look in /home/your_name/.steam/steamapps/compatdata The folders are all strings of numbers, each being the ID of the respective steam game. You can find the ID for any steam game just by going in it’s store page and looking at the URL. You don’t usually need to mess with this though, just browse the game files in your /steam/common folder.

I live in an area know for having some of the better public transport in the states. My drive to work is about 25 minutes. I can bus to work, but it takes almost three hours and three separate busses, and then I cannot bus home after work.

People’s value doesn’t lie in their ability to perform labor. Being “useful” isn’t important. What should be done, is that everyone should have their needs met so they can do with their lives what they want. There’s a lot of theoretical ways to try and do that, but none of them are of interest in a capitalist society.

It doesn’t have to be people per se, find what brings you those sparks of joy in your life and don’t let them go.

I’ve played a lot of Battle net games by installing battle net in lutris, then installing the game I want to play there. There’s a lot of scripts you can find for installing particular games. I can’t speak for whether HOTS works, but I played many many hours of WoW and Overwatch (before 2) that way. It’s annoying using a launcher to run a launcher to play your game, but it works.

What’s crazy us, there’s actually enough existing housing for everyone, at least in the US to have a home. It’s just all owned by massive real estate corporations and left empty. The state doesn’t need to build more housing, they just won’t distribute what’s there. But let’s be real, they don’t want people to stop being homeless. Our prison industry is private and for-profit, they want them to be homeless so they can criminalize and arrest them, so they can make them do cheap/free prison labor.

I’ve been using Garuda for… Two or three years? I’ve done a lot of distro-hopping looking for something that won’t just break on me. I used Ubuntu for a long time but kept running into situations where it would break, such as boot loops. Eventually I settled on Garuda because it ships with newer software and Nvidia drivers, which is helpful because I use my PC for gaming. I have stuck around because it’s garuda-update command automatically makes a backup of your system out of the box, and you can select to boot into a backup in grub then restore it really easily. There have been a couple times where something has broken on an update, but when that happens I can immediately restore the backup, and I don’t even need to remember to run a backup manually. I do feel that the default theme is a bit gaudy so I swapped it to a default KDE, but other than that I’ve had pretty much only good experiences with Garuda.

I don’t at all. It’s way too much noise and way too many people, I get overstimulated and have panic attacks. I think it’s actually wild that people enjoy it.

That’s very fair. I say this only because I’ve found myself going down a rabbit hole of things not working on my own before, and a reinstall is usually the faster option for me. POP was just one example, a lot of distributions come with Nvidia installed by default. Mint should work pretty much out of the box, but I remember Optimus being tricky sometimes. I do not recommend Manjaro, and not because it’s arch. The last time I used Manjaro, it’s automatic updater updated my Nvidia driver and my kernel to two separate versions that didn’t work with each other, and bricked my system on me. It’s not exceptionally stable even as far as Arch goes. Arch doesn’t have to be scary, I use Garuda and it has made it very user friendly. I run all updates with one command and that command automatically makes snapper backups that I can pick between on boot, which makes fixing anything that can go wrong pretty easy. Garuda Cinnamon edition uses the same desktop that mint uses. Anyway, I do hope you’re able to get mint working for you.
