I don’t know about many, but I can tell you I went ten miles out of my way today to see a friend I haven’t seen in a hot minute and get a hug.

I worry we give too much attention to one company over several that are problematic. Not that the attention is invalid, more that we need to keep every invasive technology in each other’s awareness.

I actively avoid any product seen in ads. My friend down the street falls for every gimmicky TV ad.

If would be nice if we could trust government and media. It’s tricky.

That seems sus AF, like when the USA “found” something similar targeting UN headquarters.

Furthermore, I’m wondering “authoritarian compared to whom, exactly?” Look around you. Violence unleashed on peaceful protesters everywhere, asking for anything from less police violence to don’t cut or freeze wages to tax dollars for citizens not genocide.

The last time I said that and posted a dictionary entry definition, the user without an original thought claimed that’s not the way the average person uses the word and I’m wrong. 🤷‍♀️

I highly recommend you do that, rather than looking at anything that disagrees and asking "if my government lied to me about genocide in Palestine, the Gulf of Tonkin, and Vietnam war, what else may they be lying about, and why?”
