Agreed. Human brains are not good with AI because we get su mich praise from them And they keep the engagement going with even more praise.
I actually made sure that every model I use don’t fo those, not referencing itself as a person.
It is really addictive to “just ask one more question”.
People will develop emotional bonds to brands “ohh Gemini is so funny!”, “Claude is such a sarcastic asshole”.
And let’s not start on getting lazy. Laziness is evolutionary trait. Using AI is as lazy as it can be.

The problem with the current technology, that the future technology will never be worse than what we have freely available. If you check the last 3 years of development where it was and where it is now - it is worrisome and awesome at the same time.
And human slop isn’t better than AI slop. If you put the same effort in a human product (literally 2 sentence to prompt the AI for results) - the outcome is predictable.
I believe the expression is: shit in - shit out.
So if you are able to spend the time to write an article, ask the ai to proofread it and telling it to show you what it needs to change (you can even adk for ourside links and can verify one by one) - then you will be able manually edit your own document - without any AI slop dripping in.
Is it extra work? Nope - if you get a human proofreading done - you still have to do these changes yourself. And you will be responsible for what you do with the information.
The thing is that we expect AI to do those last steps and making editoral decisions - is our mistake and laziness.
That’s the human slop.
I like to believe that LLMcan be used the right way.
I believe there is a genuine use for them.
The fact hhat now you can probably buy an AI powered trash can or toilet seat, is not the AI’s fault.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anyone else feel irritated when deeply religious people connect everything with god?
8·2 days agoIt is not as much irritated, but totally confused.
I don’t have much contact with religious people -but I had to listen the following story:
How god gave her a sign (after she prayed) and then she found the perfect picture frame in Goodwill…I mean yeah for suuure.
God provided you with a picture frame, meanwhile 11 moths old Timmy died from brain cancer. Probably his parents’ prayers were not strong enough…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would you pick to be reincarnated as AND WHY?
5·2 months agoMaybe a giant panda? Cuddly, dumb and unlimited bamboo everywhere.
My problem is the employee information. There are more innocent minimum wage workers in the company, than the people who were responsible for the penguins.
If they really released employee information, that’s a despicable thing.
The company stuff and fighting AI and everything is a totally different topi morally.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do yall think about parents who Never let their Kids Watch spongebob?
12·2 months agoThose parents probably trying their best to curate their children media. That’s literally their job. Parenting means they make these decisions.
What do I think of parents that make their kids do religious things / cultural things?
Or make kids learn a foreign language / music? They are better bc they are trying. Versus the parents that just give an ipad to the kid so they shut up.
In some niche cases it is really easy to tell the writer’s gender.
But in articles and news I haven’t find any distinct differences. I bet there is some, but if they are hurt by that - it is very sad and hopeless. They won’t learn and they won’t change, they are only going to poison their environment.
Keeping your mind young is primary concern.
Dental hygiene you should already have.
Keep learning new things.
Learn cursive and develop your own handwriting.
Writing down things physically makes learning way easier. And keeps your brain young - because, there is a reason why dementia is hitting some people in their 40s.Edit: brush your teeth and floss every day. If you don’t like to floss every day get a water flosser for those days.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there an estimate of the carbon footprint of Trump's war?
7·3 months agoI don’t think a war has bigger footprint than all the backrolled environmental protection laws, and pushing coal and big oil does…
Because those effects will be felt over the - naively hopeful wishful thinking of those wars being over in the close future. Right?

There were outliners already who were happy with their waifus, marrying their body pillow - and so on.
AI just make it way easier to cut those pesky human connections that require actual effort.
