What is god in your question? I’m genuinely interested what you are trying to grasp?
God as creator of everything, god as natural force like Father Winter l, god as a teacher - god as absolute puppet master - god as a force that vast and never to be understood - god that needs worship - god that is - god that demands the right free choices - god who make sure you will find the perfect picture frame in goodwill while let’s Timmy die at 16 months old from viral brain cancer?

Zeus is exactly just like the other gods: Jupiter, Ra, Krishna, Anaterasu, Enkidu, Coyote and Jesus - or even the ‘fictional ones’ like Cthulhu.
If it was written by a human in a human language that’s a human construct.
If god exists it would be written in a gods penmanship and we would not be able to read it. Because the ink would be galaxies on a tapestry of incomphensive amount of space and time. Who knows maybe they are still signing their names after creating everything for a kindergarten homework assignment. We are all students in this life ;)
Gods are created by humans, therefore nature isn’t god.
How can we call something god that exist and unexist at the same time? How can be a non sentiment non-being be a god?
Who says nature wasn’t?
Who say there is a wasn’t for nature and it is not in its nature to be or not?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you guys think the boycott against Playstation is gonna work?
5·10 days agoI don’t think it will matter to them if I boycott them. But that won’t stop me of not buying their products.
Same thing with Target - my yearly $200 I spent there before I started my boycott - won’t even ping the radar. But my ‘boycott’ still going strong.
It might be or might not. It is very subjective.
One thing for sure: nature IS.
It doesn’t care if you think anything.
It doesn’t plan.
And it doesn’t play favorites.Time marches forward and things are, then they don’t, then something else becomes of them and they are afterwards but sometimes nothing needs to come out of it either.
Tho I am not sure about the time part.
You can have a business card with a "phone"number on it. (Your pin can be any part of that number it is only you who needs to know where to start reading the code). You don’t need to have a sus number only piece of paper. :)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you do in your free time after having exhausted your hobbies?
2·22 days agoOne of my favorite YouTuber is back with cooking, that’s what made me try to re-frame it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you do in your free time after having exhausted your hobbies?
13·22 days agoIf I am actually bored, I also start cleaning things you don’t usually clean. Footboards, light switches, the fridge… Put away stuff you won’t use in the next month.
But right now I am considering to put cooking from chores to hobby category in my mind. If I try to look at it as fun instead of have to - I think I will do it more. And my sourdough starter is ready to go also.

4·22 days agoI believe currently the health app is the only way to use galaxy watch gen 4+.
Just checked and couldn’t find any other way.
Some terrible cooking channels on YouTube. There is no way anyone would cook like that. And they recorded it, edited and uploaded to the net.
Pure rage bait
Rock!
You can hold onto it as a paper weight for reat of your life or carry it around in your pocket - knowing you have the perfect rock!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If a doctor told you your unborn child has a 99% chance of severe downs syndrome, to the point where they would need constant care until the day they die. Do you think it's ethical to abort?
6·25 days agoIt is ethical to abort in the first part of the pregnancy. If tge fetus has a chance of disability or mental disorder.
No one is ready to take care of a disabled person instead of a healthy child.
It is ethical to give the child up for adoption (now tge adopter should be ready for the same problem).
Also it is also ethical to keep it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why does it seem like the majority of people think problems are caused by drugs rather than problems causing people to turn to drugs?
3·29 days agoWe all have our coping mechanisms. And without any doubt some of them are healthy and most of them are bad… And some of them will actively kill you.
Drugs is in the last two categories.
Tbh I think weed is a terrible drug, killing motivation and clouds thinking - but it is a step above alcohol. And should be legal.
What we need to have a social network where nobody needs to turn to drugs, but realistically it’s not going to happen.
You won’t find people on lemmy who will admit it.
I do know a semi(?)-homeless person who stinks so much I buy air freshener just for when he comes by.
He is a crystal addict, pothead and mentally ill. His mental development is about 14 year old. Very sweet guy.
I believe he is living in a house, but who knows his stories doesn’t make sense. He doesn’t even have a name because ‘they have to gove it to him’.
I don’t know if he has a place to shower, but I don’t think he has a mind to think of showering. He has several changes of clothes and once.
I believe body odor is a defense mechanism also - you are less likely to get raped if you stink like … Everything. If a healthy not addicted person stinks - there are reasons and most of the time it is mental illness or homelessness.
(Except for outliners back to nature and so on)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Can "Western" languages be conveyed via visual concepts in writing?
6·1 month agoNot anymore. If you go back to ancient times pictograms existed. But as time marched on those got replaced with other alphabets or a way more schematic way of writing.
And historians are guessing.
Supposedly the Hungarian ancient runes are coming from so many places and some in bc3000 were kinda hieroglyphic - but todays way of writing has absolutely nothing left of it.

Tho Hungarian is a special butterfly bc technically not European but Asian Uralic language. And those runes coming from not Europe either.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you feel about the phrase "A jealous friend is not your friend"?
2·1 month agoAgain I asked you for clarification and after your answer I quoted the first, number one main, grammatically correct definition.
And you are still being unhappy. Are you the jealous person you are asking about?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you feel about the phrase "A jealous friend is not your friend"?
2·1 month agoFeelings if you don’t act up on is fine. Those are akin of invasive thoughts.
The moment those snide remakrs start: who were you hanging out with? Why are you looking at them? I won’t talk to you if you are hanging out with them!
Pure hell. So answering your question again: no jealous friend is a burdensome connection that infects your emotions with their insecurities and dependency.

Your idea is as old as marriage for love.
No one will stop you, and in today’s world it is even easier to ‘get away’ with it. If you are hetero you could even marry a same-sex person that way potential babies as problem are out of the window. I’m assuming you don’t want kids, and you won’t change your mind? That’s the only safe way to do it.
