Beef has gotten truly insane where I live. I’ve completely stopped buying it.

Amazon are proving year after year that it takes more than money to make games.

Everyone’s talking about the mad cow part, but this is also a really excellent point:

“Some of these people trying to define the future of humanity, creativity, or whatever it is using AI, are not the most humane or creative people. So they’re sort of saying, ‘We’re better at being human than you are.’ It’s obviously not true.”

It’s not a personal attack

And I took that personally!

It’s hard to overstate how insanely fast these games get made. I have no doubt that the project managers have to cut any corner they can to meet the release schedule. Don’t take this as a defense of the result, but rather a criticism of the treadmill dev cycle for these games.

If you ever have to open a command prompt, you’ve already lost them.

How much you wanna bet in around 6 months to a year there are headlines about them hiring loads of people to cleanup the mess.

If this starts to happen, turn it around before it slides too much and start biting from the other side instead. Usually does the trick!

See, CS is too far for me. Every weapon being a nearly instakill and no respawns just isn’t fun for me. I’ll give it to you that it’s even simpler though.

I’m not average I’m sure, but I buy 0 games a year at full price 😅

They’re a very pure and straightforward shooter experience with a lot of polish. I don’t think it’s that weird.

The level of monetization is totally unhinged at this point, but there’s a good game buried underneath it all.

Ah, I see. I wonder how convoluted that’s going to be in a few years 😅

I’d say based on his last 3 songs he is now fully political. I mean we’ll see what he does next, but Hind’s Hall 1 and 2, and Fucked Up are all super political and powerful songs.

I’m too old to say what anything this generation is, but look up “fucked up” by Macklemore. Came out at the start of the year and it’s the most rage against the machine esque thing I’ve heard in years. Got me riled up.

Edit: I see you literally called him out in the post, so this is old news to you I’m sure. I’ll leave it for others to find!

Is there much depth to that? I’ve found in the past they keep adding new systems, and each new one has exactly the same issue of being another thing that’s not super deep. And by deep I mean full of surprises and things to learn, not you can technically do it for a long time.

I’ve tried to get into it periodically. I like aspects of it, but it’s also very bland in some ways I find. Like there are infinite cool planets to discover, but the resources are more or less the same on each and across the whole thing. There’s so much to see, but so little meat on the bones I guess?

I need a bit more pulling me forward than what that game gives you I think. The phrase “wide as an ocean, shallow as a puddle” has been my experience with it unfortunately. I know a lot of people like it these days, though.
