It’s technically a work of fiction but The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin can maybe be considered an anarchist book. It does a deep delve into an anarchist society and how it could theoretically be organized. In my opinion it could also be interpreted as a critique, but I think it’s stronger for it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What show do you find relaxing even tho its weird it makes you feel that way?
4·4 months agoChernobyl. It’s absolutely not relaxing but it reminds me that my problems are small and surmountable.
80-95 going to housing and making sure your family is eating well is extremely reasonable. That’s the whole point of the money. That’s not kindness, that’s making sure your kids have a good life and it’s a major goal that most people strive for and would be happy to achieve.
You’re assuming men will be the only ones searching for straight porn.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What have you heard people say that screams "I have lived my life in a Westernised bubble and have no idea how the world is" ?
461·8 months agoTheir attitudes towards elderly parents. I’ve been told I shouldn’t worry about helping them in their old age because they had their chance to work and save for retirement and so it’s their responsibility of it’s not enough. Except… They didn’t. They migrated here with nothing, provided for THEIR parents their whole lives, and did the best they could for me, which left them with next to nothing. Westerners assume everyone boomer aged or so had the same opportunities that their parents had. The nuclear family is also very hands-off about caring for the elderly. That’s not how most of the world operates. Plus, it’s so sad!
Yep, threatened to commit suicide and everything. When I started dating again he found my new SO’s social media and said if he kept dating me he would fight him. Thankfully the new SO was a reasonable person and just answered “I don’t want to fight you so I’m just going to call the cops.”

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Who of you want or don't want children? I am just curious because most people that I talk to don't seem to want it. I mean leftist
8·1 year agoWant them, can’t afford them. Not in terms of money, living space (which money would solve), or time (which is required to make money). I already feel like I’m drowning on my own, I don’t want to also fail my children.
Plus the world is a shitty place.

When something was “dry” it meant it was bad. Never heard it again after I finished middle school.
