Why isn’t there more prog rock? Styles change. There’s still smaller prog rock bands starting and playing shows, they’re just not selling out MSG like they did when that genre was in vogue.

Gah you are so right with that. Between the first Trill episode and the non-binary planet episode… just a rough time for queer Trek. At least we got some good stuff with DS9, though even the head writer wishes they pushed the envelope a little further.

I’m hopeful we can get some better stuff out of Strange New Worlds. While Disco had more representation, I did not care for that show for a myriad of other reasons.

Yeah, that line always felt kinda strange. I rationalized it by thinking in the Star Trek world, there was no violent revolution, but more of a pseudo-Posadist realization of global unity in the wake of the third world war and First Contact with the Vulcans, thus Mao’s axiom being less applicable.

Or, more realistically, Standards and Practices needed them to disavow what was being described as terrorism in that particular episode.

I mean, it’s cool as hell, it’s just unlike Captain Jean-Luc Picard to make quips like that or for Star Trek characters to so blatantly advocate socialism. The UFP is certainly a post-scarcity socialist utopia, but I think the conceit in the writers room is that they are so established in their utopia that they don’t speak of it in such direct terms because it’s established. That, and the sensibilities of the late 80’s would make such a statement provocative on network television. Heck, Jean-Luc even at one point refutes Mao’s idea that political power stems from the barrel of a gun.

But I could see them having more leeway in a video game.

I loved that game as a child but I couldn’t get past any of the puzzles, being 6 years old.

In my personal experience, I found meeting people in person a far more fruitful dating method than online dating. I was fairly successful in both. I’m not particularly attractive but I’m rather charismatic and I found online dating resulting in a lot more flubs than meeting someone with the intent of simply making a new friend based on shared interests and finding something more growing from that. The online dating did give me a lot of fun dates and sexual experiences, though.

But perhaps take it all with a grain of salt because I ended up with an old friend from high school when we moved in together to save money on rent.

I’m not saying it can’t work, I just see a lot of lonely people wondering why the apps don’t work for them yet try nothing else.

Online dating is great for hook ups, but joining in person hobby groups is better for making friends that might turn into something more.

I’m not sure thats right. I think the 2A was written in order to enable the US to be able to organize militias to defend itself against foreign invasion as, at the time, the idea of the colonies supporting a standing army was impossible.

I see a lot of people starting gardens or looking to getting chickens to be as self sufficient as they can. Many are holding off on large purchases to save in case “something happens”. People around me who were never interested in firearms and in fact were generally opposed to them are starting to arm themselves at a rapid pace.

You add the arugula and the salad after the base is cooked. Some places cook it with sauce only and add shredded uncooked mozzarella, some cook it with minimal cheese on the pie and add the shaved cheese on the salad. Dealer’s choice.

Edit: bf is insisting the no cooked cheese is best, with a light vinaigrette. I think it’s worth playing around with it. But a lil dressing is nice.

Arugula adds a sharp flavor that really pairs with cheese well. Might be controversial, but I’m a big fan of the salad pizzas. The best tend to be the house salads of romaine, red onion, tomato, and olives up ended atop a good thin crust pizza with plenty of sauce.

Edit: Oh!! If making an arugula salad pizza, I find it works best when paired with something incredibly salty, like anchovy, used very sparingly, some thinly sliced pecorino romano, and a drizzle of good balsamic (that thick shit, not the watery cheapo one). Throw some halved sweet cherry tomatoes on there and some thin sliced onions? Oh! One of my favorite meals after a night of drinking.

That all depends on viewership and ad revenue.
