  • The mission structure is shallow. No room for creativity at all. There’s only one way to finish most quests. If you step outside the path the developers created for you at all, instant fail.

The fact you unironically use this to detract from GTAV, a game released during the PS3 era, while ignoring the exact SAME issue for Cyberpunk, a modern RPG advertised as the epitome of choice, should inform anyone to the validity of any of the opinions you hold in this matter. The only staying power of Cyberpunk is people benchmarking with it.

You literally contradict yourself trying to defend Cyberpunk…

I didn’t play Cyberpunk for the police and NPC AI. I don’t give a fuck about that. I played it for the story, world-building, characters, dystopian themes, and shoot em up style hacker gameplay.

So you play it like a linear shooter, which is the exact opposite of what was advertised. Mayhap you are part of the population Kojima also mentioned as fundamentally unable to process anything that isn’t “shoot the baddies”.

On that subject, the story of Cyberpunk is pretty shallow. There’s one good arc, the tutorial, after that it reads like it was written by a completely different team and the original writing team was relegated to one or two side quests.

    Edit:

    maybe you’re just a cunt

Very classy, one can Tell Cyberpunk is one of your favourite games.

  • Please explain to me how GTAV was shallow. One can absolutely dislike the caricature like style of world building however, calling it shallow borderlines illiteracy. Especially when defending cyberpunk, there’s no underlying message of any sort in Cyberpunk. It’s like, shoot the baddies, corpos bad, mohawk and neon good.

I can tell you from the top of my head Cyberpunk issues that haven’t been solved to today or promises that haven’t been addressed:

Ai of NPCs Ai of police - both still much worse than even sleeping dogs… The promised branching narrative never happened, it’s wildly linear. No functional karma system. The writing of the main characters, the beginning is promising with the

    death of Jackie

The world is basically a ubisoft map minus interesting, organic things to do in the open world The driving is horrendous in cars, unbelievably bad in motorbikes The characters are wildly one-dimensional and villains are absolute moustache twirling levels of bad.

They failed on over half of the promised features to this day. It’s not a bad game, it’s just mid.

  • M8, that’s the wrong argument, you CANNOT do it for 400€-500€. I get that a PC is much more versatile, but as a turnkey solution, the console or steamdeck are downright unbeatable in value right now. GPUs cost stupid money and the PS5 still holds its own against a 6700XT(7700)/4060ti, plus it has resume play like the deck…

I use a PC (9070XT is a wonderful card) but I’m privileged. If I weren’t, I’d be buying a PS5 or a Steamdeck. You can get used PS5 disks for 10-20€, you don’t need to pay to play FTP games online and don’t need internet to play your used disks. It’s overall a far superior option unless your budget is above 1000€ or you have some kind of malformation that only let’s you play with KBM.

The PS5+used games or a Steamdeck in case you already have a library on steam are downright the only smart money options nowadays in the EU.

If you have 1000€ to burn, then you can get a pretty good machine with AM4 and RDNA3 for a reasonable price (7800xt are going for not stupid money normally). I’d still wait for the 9060 to get FSR4 and slap bazzite on a HTPC build and call it a day.
