If you could figure out how to make soap from fat, you could be the clean one. Supposedly that helped the Vikings take the ladies home.

My dad always cleaned his waterproofing tools with acetone. So that reminds me of him when I smell it. But then I think about how bad it probably was to always have his truck reeking of acetone and wonder if that contributed to his premature death.
Tiny photocell powered calculators used to be everywhere. There were “thin” ones to fit in your Costanza sized wallet, Mousepads with them built in, and my wristwatch in 6th grade had one with tiny rubber keys.
It was a magical time till be alive. 5318008
It’s spelled Freedumb
My brother and I are rebuilding it this summer. The pool at my moms house is also being re-plastered so we’re going to drill and epoxy new bolts in the deck and sand and fiberglass the old wood, which hopefully isn’t too rotten.
Gotta get my 7 y/o diving off it this summer.
Looks exactly like this model but with on thicker spring instead of the 2. My 6’3 230lb dad could just about bottom it out.
We were riding off skate ramps at the time though. If I lived in a place with separate bike lanes I might consider going helmet-less. But I’ve also been hit by a car and likely saved a lot of brain damage by having a helmet on. Same with skiing (helmets and accidents, not hit by a car!).
And they literally grabbed at least one student off the street and took them straight to detention with no due process. There’s no one stopping them from taking them to El Salvador from there either.
And the US prisons don’t sound any better really. Mylar blankets and 24 lights is a form of torture.
Bike helmets didn’t get common until 6th grade or so. Same with face guards and mouth guards in anything but football.
We also had a diving board with a full size car spring. A gymnast pal could do double flips off it.
Ironically arguing for ethical restraint by using Zuckerberg as an example, which is similar ti using Hitler as a measuring stick.
Moth of which have become much more relevant.
Probably voter disenfranchisement actually.
Yeah, maga republicans hold a religious belief now, not an informed political one.
You’re questioning their whole world view when you bring up counter arguments, so a careful approach that works in from the edges of that belief are the only arguments I’ve been able to have.
How is Krita? I’m on a Mac and my biggest problem with Gimp and Inkscape has always been lack of MacOS integration. Mostly with the UI but even shortcuts were wrong when I tried it. And the mouse/trackpad gestures were the dealbreaker.
I use Pixelmator, which hopefully continues to be a well developed pay once app, even though Apple just bought them. That and Sketch get me all the design tools I need for 2D and web.
It’s weird, I hated them the very first time I saw their first video in MTV (just as mtv was about to finish killing off the music in their channel).
I think it was the combination of complete gener-rock, d-bag lead singer, and stupidly over dramatic nothing lyrics. All I know is it was instant that I know I didn’t like them.
Has a similar response to Bush (the soap ballad band) in the 90s.
Yeah, these jokes always assume a jump back in time, not some sort of rewinding for just the traveler.
Website based voyager on iOS. Not the app!
That’s how you know all the channels you’re trying are owned by the same company (clear channel/iheartradio)

Edit: Wow, pasting image from clipboard works! I meant to go get it from my photos but forgot.
The Porsche Taycan has a 2 speed electric gearbox for better efficiency at freeway/autobahn speeds.
Blue hats with sticky trap tape on the backs do wonders. Seriously they love moving dark blue spherical things.
Yeah any nag screen needs to be disabled for at least a period of time after a donation (permanently, or replaced with a quick thank you screen for ongoing contributions).
Clearly reporting finances and costs is nice to see too and makes it more compelling for contribute in my opinion. A few Lemmy instances are doing that now and it makes it easy to want to contribute if you can.
