Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmings who can fall asleep within minutes of their head hitting the pillow, what's your secret?
4·18 days agoWhile I am not one to fall asleep in minutes usually, I’ve had a few cases where I was extremely tired and fell asleep the moment I put my head on the pillow and also woke up instantly the next morning. What’s interesting is that I did not feel rested at all but I also were not sleepy.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to find communication on the Internet when bots cannot be distinguished from real people?
8·6 months agoThere can and always will be bots on the internet, you can try communicating in places where they most likely won’t be in.
Or you can always communicate offline aka with people in real life.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why are the meme posted on Lemmy so low quality compared to reddit?
5·6 months agoWhy don’t you start by making them look nice and funny first, if they aren’t enough dopamine? Maybe some people will follow your practices as the greatest meme poster of all time.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Reminder/invitation to contribute to OpenStreetMap
23·7 months ago+1.
Very easy to use app. I’ve been contributing to OSM more because of it.
Doesn’t allow third party email clients.
I can recommend Posteo.

Linux@lemmy.ml•So, why *should* GNOME support server side decorations?
5714·7 months agoIt’s funny how many GNOME people whine about the title bar wasting so much space when GNOME apps literally look like as if they’ve been made for touchscreen users. Also, what about the great black bar on the top of the system?
We should honestly just leave GNOME behind and have them deal with it. We won’t move forward much with their child-like stubbornness and toxic community.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are fediverse applications you use other than mastodon and lemmy?
6·7 months agoPeertube. I’d like to see more channels from YouTube at least mirror their content there. It’s fine if they don’t want to deal with another platform, but let us at least do the mirroring.

I do not think that you can beat Google Maps in that case, as pretty much every business adds themselves to Google Maps voluntarily and also regularly update the entry. No business cares about OSM afaik.
Until Google Maps dies, this will continue happening. The network effect.
