I’m not so sure. Blank consumer recordable disks are something that usually have generic versions. Someone is likely still making disks. Just not Sony.

The article title is very close to many others and the Google translate of the official Japanese press release. Tech powerup seemed to do some basic journalism as opposed to just google translate.
