Ya but is it fun? Star Citizen is playable but like…last time I tried it, there wasn’t quite a gameplay loop yet.

Epic kinda tried that by giving away tons of free games in the Epic Games Store. It didn’t work.

If I want Steam games cheaper, I go buy a Steam key for that game from a separate retailer and activate it on Steam. Save like 50-70% irrespective of Steam sales. It’s remarkable that Steam allows us to even do that in the first place.

This won’t work against commercial crawlers. They check page contents with something similar to a simhash and don’t recrawl these pages. They also have limiters like for depth to avoid getting stuck in circular links.

You could generate random content for each new page, but you’ll still eventually hit the depth limit. There are probably other rules related to content quality to limit crawling too.
