The problem is that the arguments against Linus are laughable at best and utterly idiotic at worst.
AI right now is just a tool just like a compiler is. The fact that it’s not deterministic is absolutely meaningless when code can be test gated and implementation validated by humans.
What’s the point of this argument though? Sure it’s real for every profession and every tool but what’s the agentic choice we ought to pursue here? Whine against AI or actually lead society with policy? As “ban llm” is not a valid policy that would ever work so the only viable path is regulation and growing of culture where AI is used for good, no?
Embrace AI, work towards open weight/free software and protect worker rights. Society wins at the bleeding edge not at conservstism.

Yes, immutable linux can be made much safer. With overlays none of the projects compete for config so agents are much less likely to introduce bugs and access important context by accident basically just by reading explicit immutable configs. We’re rolling everything on nixos now and it’s really good. Immutable linux has basically won imo.
Attention is currency
It’s not just a program it’s a movement. It has budget of 13m usd that comes from corporations who have maybe 0.01% of their user base on linux. Why do you think that is? Why would 1Password and friends do this?
It comes with claude.md and some skills. Basically nothing you can’t setup in 15 minutes and a claude prompt on any linux distribution yourself. They claim “because omarchy is just text configs llms understand it very well” when all linux and all distributions are configured through text.
Agentic linux is awesome though but you’d bave to be brain damaged to do it on mutable distro.

Sure but again this is only a problem if copyright exists. Stallman himself invented GPL due to frustrations of copyright. The permisiveness is default human behavior that was corrupted by evil people and terrible systems. The neutrrance of copyright just returns us to this default state of sharing.
Sure but that’s mostly irrelevant in practice now. Gpl was notoriously unenforced so this aspect of “getting source code” almost never yielded to much in practice. FSF did a great job with limited resources it has but as code copyright is basically gone now and reverse engineering is so accessible we can actually empower real free software that is fully transparent and verifiable. If you imply that somehow we’ll start regressing existing tools to proprietary software I don’t see that at all.
Copyleft exists only because of copyright. If there is no copyright there’s no longer a need for copyleft.
Why? The entire purpose of GPL is to counteract copyright. If there is no copyright we no longer need GPL either.
