10 days agoMaybe it’s the regular vs Pro lineup. I never had any experience with the regular lineup. I’ve bought my wife a 14 Pro, and the experience there is the same as on mine.

Weird, I have the opposite experience. After an S3 Mini and a Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro, my gf let me try her iPhone 8 for a bit and I was amazed by how smooth it was running. I’ve bought a 11 Pro in early 2020 and have been using it ever since. Still works like on the day I’ve bought it, no slowdowns, smooth as hell. I did do a battery swap after the fourth year though.
I wouldn’t mind trying a Pixel with GrapheneOS though. But all Pixels are so large compared to the iPhone Pro lineup.

2·17 days agoHoly shit, I sat down at my desktop every day for an hour or two over the four day Quebecois long weekend, trying to figure out what went wrong.
Least I had lots of time to spend with my wife and kids.
Edit: honestly, I wish pacman would have actually handled this without a required manual intervention.

I don’t know kubuntu that well, just be aware that certain graphics cards will require a more bleeding edge distro. People have been swearing by Bazzite, CachyOS and Nobara lately.

I don’t understand your argument. 100% of my library works under Linux. In fact based on protondb’s ratings, half of them don’t even require me to do anything (this is excluding titles that run native on Linux):
For the half that requires “tinkering” it literally means adding one well documented argument to the command line to make it run smoothly.
The benefits of Linux far outweigh the cons of having to suffer the shitshow that is windows.
1·28 days agoI don’t have issues you are describing with flameshot, however a clipboard manager greatly enhanced the copy-ability between apps and certain websites (looking at you JIRA and Slack), including when the source is flameshot.

So the Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT was their reference card basically. And it acts like that, a very solid card.
