Adding to the other comment. You can install more than one launcher and try them out. You select which is your default launcher in the settings. Nova launcher was a great launcher that was highly customisable and many here had it and likely the paid premium version. Then it got bought out and enshittified. Lawnchair is an open source alternative that many like.
You can set a pin as an alternative. Pin would be easier to brute force but no different to a password when forcefully unlocked by coersion.
