I’m not that big against systemd, but Wayland (relevant to Hyprland here) makes me cry.
I’m still using X11 sessions quite often because Wayland gets confused when there are 2 GPUs in the system. And there are many more issues I’ve encountered that I won’t be able to remember right off the bat, but that all results in overall frustrating experience.
Yep, people involved are the biggest problem sometimes.
I’ve had to figure how to fix many issues myself, because quite often upon finding a thread where someone already had an issue that I had, folks were tryna gaslight the OP why it’s not actually an issue, eventually turning the thread into shit flinging contest. Or the good old “don’t do that, you’ll break something” (that I proceeded to do and was absolutely okay).
Not to mention how FOSS developers have to deal with entitled assholes every now and then.
TF2 source code comments are just beautiful.
I mean, I’m certainly guilty of having to tidy up codebases before shipping, to remove all the goofy stuff and swear words, so these comments just make those Valve employees very relatable for me.
