Then after retirement and benefits it’s anywhere from 20% to 50%. I’m at about 25% just with tax, 36% with benefits and retirement.
Depending on if your deductions are calculated correctly (you have to negotiate that with your job) you might end up getting a refund layer or have to pay, so in reality my rate is more like 30% overall. People with more expensive insurance or less tax credits and or other things on top of that are going to have it worse off.
I make half what I would need to be able to afford buying a home in my area and be able to make mortgage payments and still have money left

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do I have to purchase a domain to make an instance here?English
12·9 months agoCertain TLD (e.g. .com, .net, .xyz) will cost a different amount per year to register. I use porkbun as well. A .com or .net may be $12.50+ per year. The cheapest domain is 9 numbers and .xyz from porkbun at 1.22/yr (e.g 123456789.xyz) but isnt as memorable. I use one of those just for external access otg with a cron script for updating the dns entries.
Also remember to hide the whois info because you will immediately start getting calls from scammers that scrape the phone number and call you telling you that you need to pay them to finish setting things up
Generic process is to register the domain, set up the DNS entries to point to your server IP, and if theres any dynamic DNS setup in your software, to enter the api key from your registrar and the domain so it can update it if your IP ever changes.

That seems pretty arbitrary
0-2 would indicate negative, 0 being extremely bad and life changing and 2 pretty bad (worse than broken bones)
3 which should be neutral is broken bones
4-6 indicates success, but 4 seems to be just barely passing (e.g. landing it but with a fumble and falling) which doesnt seem to balance out a broken bone for 3 or something worse at 2

20·11 months agoNot a backdoor, just undocumented commands on the hci. You would already need access to the device from the microcontroller side to leverage them. Also it’s not uncommon for older devices like this to have undocumented commands

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why the ultrarich come after trans people ?English
5·1 year agoThey are a fairly small group compared to other marginalized groups, and particularly vulnerable compared to others. There is already a lot of misinformation about them. Average people often dont run into them or understand them Well enough to make informed decisions. Its easy for billionaires and republicans to wield religion against them. They are often vocal about their beliefs. Intersectionality is also important (e.g. supporting and protecting other minority demographics’ rights because it is the right thing to do, and tearing each other down is counterproductive) to them, which isnt always the case. Disappearing them sets an example and is a test run for setting up the infrastructure and means to take control. See: nazi germany with the deaf, and current marginalization by the trump administration of the trans and disabled communities.

Craigslist/fb marketplace can be a good way to find garage sales so you dont have to negotiate a meet up time / place or anything. Also look for estate / moving sales. Check along local roads for signs on upcoming garage sales.
Thrift stores can be ok but can be expensive or not have great stuff if its in an expensive area. Consider going to smaller shops / delis and looking for if they have a section for local business cards; some places will have a section where people will leave a stack of business cards, so you might be able to find smaller thrift/antique shops that way, or find an ad someone has left for upcoming sales.
Also check: local facebook groups, local library in person / website
Not sure about other online sites or specific items though.
