Yes, I tried with VLC as well. It works as intended there. Video pauses, and the PC suspends or shuts down normally.
Firefox seems to be the only thing that prevents it, and only if there’s a video loaded. Doesn’t have to be the active window, and it doesn’t matter which display it’s on. If there’s a video playing or paused, it prevents suspend and shutdown.
That’s not a fix though, it’s a hoop to jump through every time. Regardless of OS, it’s incorrect behavior.
Until those willing to stand up and fight build up into a critical mass, every individual is at risk of being disappeared by the thought police. So until then, there is a good reason to be scared.

The game looks way better than the original. I’ve only seen a stream of it, but literally everything is improved, at least visually. Better meshes and much better lighting everywhere.
Others have already answered your questions, so I just wanted to add that the Linux community is based on sharing and cooperation, mainly though Open Source principles, but also in most other ways. From personal experience, I would say that the community is pretty much always willing to help out when you experience issues. There’s always someone willing to share some insight.
And even less not to.
I watched a bit of a stream of this, but I wasn’t a big fan of the streamer so I didn’t stick around. This has been on my radar for a while. Is it any good? It’s currently too expensive for my tastes, so I’m going to have to wait a while anyway.

It would not. All work puts out an equal amount of heat for the amount of power drawn. A 1500 Watt electric heater will put out 1500 Watts of heat, and a 1500 Watt computer puts out 1500 Watts of heat, but only if it’s putting in enough computing work.
That computing work might be worth something if you’re lucky, which is where the actual savings are. OP ended up saving much more money from heating less than from earning any crypto.

Maybe? It’s certainly a reasonable expectation. I mean I agree it’s probably not something that people actively seek out in general, but they have all kinds of sales based on themes that people don’t necessarily think to look for either. As a gamer from Quebec, I don’t actively search for games made in Quebec, but it’s nice to be able to look at a collection like this and know that they’re all made locally without having to make an active search for that. It’s a factor that’s generally not advertised very explicitly.
These sales are pretty regular. I see them at least yearly, it’s not a political context-dependent sale on Steam’s part.
Quebec also has a pretty big gaming presence, with Ubisoft, Behaviour, Eidos, EA, WB, Bethesda, and many others big players having studios in Montreal.
PS4 and PS5 games are much easier to port to PC since those consoles are essentially PC hardware.
Older games need to be rebuilt for completely different hardware, so it’s actually a lot more work. Not to say it wouldn’t be nice, but it’s not as easy and may not be worth the money, and there is less interest for a lot of that stuff.

My understanding is that leaves don’t “go back.” Once a leaf starts yellowing, the best case scenario is that you have a yellow leaf. You can correct deficiencies or overdoses for future leaves, and prevent existing leaves from turning, but you can’t fix the ones that have already changed.
I got it a couple years after release, out of a sense of nostalgia for the NES game.
It was bad. It really didn’t have much going for it. It did so much wrong and so little right.
I will check when I get a chance. Nothing jumped out at me after, but I didn’t think to check in the moment.
