Open Source@lemmy.ml•Is there something like GitHub, but without big tech involvement, no data collection, no ads, open source, and preferably decentralized (maybe Fediverse or even P2P)?

Linux@lemmy.ml•why didnt Enlightenment desktop recieve much adoption
6·6 months agoJust look at Tizan from Samsung all built on EFL (enlightenment foundation libs), EFL does not have many bindings with other languages and it’s “100% written in C”. The enlightenment OS is super customizable and written in its own component library based on OpenGL they call EGL. It’s a fantastic WM and hopefully Wayland version gets better.
Look at doom9.net for decryption and ripping DVD’s.
I agree , I use multiple distros including #guix use nongnu software because I can’t get libre drivers. Not sure where “vendor lock-in” for Linux distribution comes from. FSF is great but I don’t have the resources , time to find all the libre drivers for my systems. I have been using Linux/BSD for decades. Also Linux is just a kernel not the userland which most people think it is.
