Why are people pretending all those issue appeared with AI? You think the environment would be less fucked without AI? Artists? Education?
It’s like people complaining about smartphones making kids depressed. Like growing up during an apocalypse wouldn’t be the main cause? Perhaps?
These are the results of the long sharp road of capitalism. With or without “AI” we would be fucked.
Of course. But then the issue is not AI is it? It’s like always capitalism. Like the first ever AI research and development happened in the USSR. They hoped that by striving to create intelligence/consciousness we would learn more about ourselves and what it even means to be intelligent and conscious.
AI is not evil, it’s not bad or destroying the world. Capitalism is destroying the world.
The penultimate one makes no sense though. Also, most of the items in your list are not really about AI, they are about capitalism.
The contiguous 48 states in the US cover a total of ~8 million square kilometers. Europe covers a total of ~10 million square kilometers. China covers a total of ~9 million square kilometers.

I have a hard time freely forming realistic images in my head. Like if I TRY to picture an apple, I just get the vibes of an apple but no image.
But I did yoga some years ago. We did 15 min of breathing exercises, 45 min of actual physical practice (vinyasa), then 30 min of guided meditation. The whole point of the class was the meditation really, everything before that was preparing to meditate.
Anyways, first time I went, I did the breathing, did the “flows”, then we laid down to meditate. The instructor guided us through this meditation, about being in an open field, and riding a horse, and feeling the wind on your face the horse underneath you, and dude… I could picture it all like it was real life. I could see in full 4k 3D. So much I started to feel like I was there, I could actually feel the wind the horse. See the bright sun. I actually cried a little.
So yeah I think with the right guidance you could probably see in your mind like it was real life.
Hard to choose to be honest… but Avatar for sure. And maybe Powerpuff Girls? Kenan & Kel? Mythbusters (if it counts?)?
On the note of Fiio, linsoul is pretty good. I’d say China has all the good IEM and music players nowadays.

And I just meant this whole “ah we’re not an oligarchy! We’re a plutocracy” thing is just dumb. What is even the difference in these peoples heads? It’s practically the same thing. And it IS the same thing under capitalism. The few who rule are the wealthy.
That’s the whole point of the system… capitalISM? The owners of CAPITAL rule?
Plutocracy = rule by the wealthy.
Oligarchy = rule by the few.
The wealthy are the few. And with increasing wealth disparity, they are comparatively even fewer than ever before.
Not really any meaningful difference.
Becoming…? The country founded on the principle that only landowners and capitalists should be represented democratically is becoming an oligarchy?
I saw something really interesting the other day…
In our society, being good or bad depends on your net worth. If you’re rich, you are good. If you’re poor you’re bad.
Poor people know they can’t be good by being rich. They actually never even interact with actual rich people. Classes don’t really interact with each other in our society.
But what they get access to is the rich man’s ideology. Or what they think rich people are (what they actually see is the petit bourgeoisie, the lower capitalist class. Their bosses are the lower rung of the capitalists. Or the upper rung of the working class. Small business owners, management etc).
But the poor can at least be on the same team as the rich, fight for the same things, and in that way at least be on the “good side”.
They try to approximate goodness by ideology. They try to get closer to “good” by fighting in the name of the “good people”.
Then of course the actual rich people defend capitalism because it’s beneficial to them, materially.
