hah, neat! I got gifted an expansion to that game (Wages of Sin) for my birthday or xmas or something, but whoever bought it for me didn’t know it needed the base game, and I couldn’t return it because I had already opened it.

Thankfully the base game was available in some three pack with Sin, Heretic II, and some other game. While I did enjoy Sin and Wages of Sin, honestly I got WAY more traction with Heretic II, which was a fucking incredible game for its time, especially the blade/staff battle dynamics which eventually gave us the excellent lightsaber play in the Jedi Knight games.

I think the third game in that pack was Battlezone 2 which was also fucking EXCELLENT, so much so that there’s a somewhat recent remaster of it on Steam that works really well.

Hard disagree about a lot of other drugs. I’m not encouraging their use, but harm reduction is a big deal, it saves lives.

If you’re gonna take drugs, do your research ahead of time, and please test your drugs. If your friends are gonna take drugs, be the friend that makes sure they get their drugs tested too. Don’t just take your dealer’s word for it if they say their stuff was tested - even if they’re telling the truth, building the habit to always test, no matter what, is gonna rub off on other folks to do the same. And know what narcan is and try to have some around.

If you’re in the USA and you don’t need to go to college for something like being a doctor, lawyer, architect, or credentialed engineer, don’t bother with college if you have to go into debt for it. It’s not worth it, and student loans generally can’t be dealt with by bankruptcy.

Nevermind that higher education in the USA is a racket. Between textbook revisions done purely for profit, courses requiring paying licensing fees to textbook companies just to submit required coursework, universities wasting money on sports or military investments, it’s just not worth it.

At least, consider community colleges.

Hello, I am a queer furry, and if you are put off by my introduction then you have a lot of shit you need to reflect on.

It is a social norm for openly queer people to be, wait for it, openly queer. Ever hear of a little thing called Stonewall? Ever hear of the core concept of queer pride?

Bigots feeling bigoted discomfort is solidly a “them” problem, and I should not and will not suppress myself to appease bigots like you.

Every corporate tech job I’ve had has dozens, if not hundreds, of openly queer people openly identifying as such. And that’s how it should be.

Whether it’s as simple as a rainbow or trans flag emoji in slack, as individual as speaking up internally about problematic anti-queer messaging, or as deep as an affinity group who coordinates pride events and such, it is and should remain acceptable and protected.

And honestly same with furry. I don’t care if who I am as a person may make someone uncomfortable. That’s solidly not my problem, and shouldn’t be an HR issue either.
