PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Our first look at the Steam Machine, Valve’s ambitious new game consoleEnglish
6·23 days agoAs an NVIDIA user, I would love an AMD system that supports quick resume like the steam deck. To me, that’s the killer feature that Valve has nailed with SteamOS. Raw performance isn’t a priority for me given AAA games have been shit compared to Indies the last few years.
Tailscale works really well for me as well.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•ROG Xbox Ally runs better on Linux than the Windows it ships with — new test shows up to 32% higher FPS, with more stable framerates and quicker sleep resume timesEnglish
5·1 month agoCyber dopamine’s test needs to be retested for this to be true. I love gaming on Linux and also regularly use my steam deck yada yada yada but come on.
Yep, the community plugins are open source only there. I still use it though.

4·2 months agoFor sure. Boogie2988 has had a pretty spectacular fall as well.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What youtuber do you think had the biggest downfall?
41·2 months agoHe’s also a product of toxic gamer culture, the N word is almost like teenagers calling things gay… doesn’t mean they hate homosexuals.
This is not to advocate for what he said at all.
6 of the 8 games were on my ITAD wait list so I’m thrilled. Best month I’ve ever seen.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to learn Dutch? Does anyone have any good sources to recommend?
7·2 months agoI’m very hard of hearing and was at a pub in the Netherlands. I Dutch guy said something to me in a noisy room and it sounded exactly like I had misheard something spoken in English.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Paradox agrees Bloodlines 2's paid clans "belong in the base game," thanks you for the "frank feedback"English
6·3 months agoShocking initial decision to do that. People making decisions from up high don’t really understand how niche this game is and how they cannot afford to be this anti-consumer… leave that to the FIFA/Diablos where the fans are already willing to do that for some reason.

I agree it’s not ideal, but they’re cheap devices that require little setup. Its not like you need to pay a subscription fee to use them for Jellyfin, so I’m okay with it on balance.
Replied from my Pixel phone with stock android as well.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Recommended mini linux device for streaming to TV
31·3 months agoIf you have an android TV, there’s a Jellyfin app for TV on there. Otherwise we use a Chromecast with Google TV dongle/remote that works pretty well.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 : "We’re making adjustments and will share the details on Sept 17. Big changes take time, and we want to do this right."English
21·3 months agoSounds like the right move. A game with a cult fan base like this is relying on positive word of mouth to bring new people in.
Locking 2 factions behind a day 1 paywall when the game already has shaky PR was a death sentence for the success of this game.
I would stress that it’s unlikely this was a Dev decision, likely the publisher wanted these parts of the game nickel and dimed.

I read the article and still a bit confused (I’m no email expert). Is the practical benefit of using EWS? I’ve got a Microsoft account email, but it has been working fine, I presumably set it up with IMAP/POP?
