Guild Wars 1 was amazing piece of art (which I’d still recommend today), the sequel never really caught me. I’m not really gaming anymore, but glad to see that the game is still being worked on.

The humidity seems crazy high for some reason. I don’t think it’s that humid in my apartment. In my room it never goes above 60% at worst though I guess around the fridge it may be higher…
The relative humidity changes with temperature. If you have humidity of 60% in your room and you cool it down, the humidity will rise as cold air can hold less water vapor than warm air. So especially in a scenario where you regularly check the temperature and humidity by opening the fridge, I would definitely expect a high humidity. Over time when the door is closed, humidity should go down as it condensates and then either freezes at the back (bad) or as a liquid through the little opening that you cleaned (good).
Another thought: is it required for your service to physically run in 25 locations? Couldn’t you have one (more powerful) main instance which accesses the other servers via SSH to execute whatever command is required?
About temps: no idea. The thing is, I never measured the temperature inside it BEFORE it was fixed, so even if I measure it now I have no point of comparison :-/
You could still validate against the general recommendations. If it’s 2 °C instead of 6, then it’s probably too cold.
But still, my bets are on humitidy getting in somewhere. Even if it’s super cold, there won’t be ice without humidity.
From my perspective, if there’s way more ice than before, chances are high that it’s no longer air tight. If warm air with high humidity leaks into the fridge, it condensates on the cool walls of the fridge and freezes there. Maybe the spare part doesn’t seal the opening 100% and that’s where the air is coming in.
Regarding the temperature: Did you put a thermometre inside to see if it’s significantly cooler than expected?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•In a domestic fridge, should milk be lined up, oldest to newest from the hinge, or away from the hinge, and why?
2·23 days agoI use oat ‘milk’ that only needs to go into the fridge when open. So only one at a time and wherever there is a free slot.
Some people kind of just want to be dicks.
I think it depends on how you say it. In general, I think it’s a good thing see other people’s opinion, especially if you already have a certain bias. IMHO there are very few topics that have only arguments in one direction.
If they block you from printing guns with a 3D printer, you could print a 3D printer that doesn’t have this limitation and use that instead.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•To those who grew up in religious schools, what's the craziest thing you remember a teacher telling you?
2·2 months agoWhat’s wrong with Indonesians in particular?
They seriously need to build more apartments and condos with concrete instead of thin wood in the US.
Concrete is a desaster from an environmental perspective and there are other ways to dampen sound between two apartment units such as clay, straw, lime, hemp etc.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you Spanish learners learn "vosotros" and its conjugations or no? ¿De dónde sois?
4·3 months agoGerman here. I learned tú (informal), usted (formal), vosotros (informal) and ustedes (formal). Teacher was from Spain.
As a German, I spent several weeks in Switzerland hiking in the mountains with a backpack and a tent. You can absolutely travel on a budget there if you’re fine with that simple lifestyle and you bring your own equipment. I don’t think my daily budget was more than 20 CHF per person a day. If you shop minimalistic (lentils, couscous, pasta etc.) I’m sure you can go even below 5 CHF.
Even if you didn’t pay them at all, a restaurant should be more expensive than cooking yourself. A restaurant still has plenty of other costs (rent, insurance, furniture, kitchen supplies etc.) and usually ingredients aren’t that much cheaper in wholesale to make up for the difference.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is the biggest non-English community on the Fediverse?
6·3 months agoSome are even hard to understand for native German speakers. ich_iel has lots of jokes in so-called ‘pliers german’ which is a mix of German and word-by-word translated English terms. It’s not really understood by an average German you’d ask on the streets.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Any Lemmings that have been regular fasters for at least a couple years? What's your first hand experience and opinion on fasting for health benefits?
3·3 months agoI usually don’t write it down, so I hope I remember it correctly:
Yesterday I had:
- Gnocchi with leek, soy chunks (“minced meat”) and basil
- Smashed cucumber salad with roasted sesame and black onion seeds
- A salad with pasta made from pea flour with beluga lentils (ingredients were left over)
- Lentil waffels (crispy flat bread similar to rice cake, not sure if you can buy these outside Europe) with hummous
- Muesli with lupine yoghurt and walnuts
- Chocolate
The day before I had
- Pasta made from pea flour with a bolognese out of eggplant beluga lentil and nutritional yeast
- Bake-off bread with bean puree
- Caesar salad from sugar loaf (?) with blended almonds and hazelnuts
- Two bars from caramalized peanuts (“Mr Tom”)
- Vegan gummy bears
Another day before:
- Grilled veggies (zucchini, corn, mushrooms, green peppers)
- Grilled seitan steaks
- Chick pea waffels (similar to lentil waffels) with soy cottage cheese
- Pop corn
Yet another day before:
- Rice with green flageolet beans, smoked tofu, coconut milk and roasted peanuts
- Raw veggies (carrots, green peppers, cherry tomatoes) with cashew dip
- Baguette
- Nuts mix with raisins and cranberries
- Sugar-coated peanuts (vegan alternative to M&Ms)

3·3 months agoI’m the commenter who eats once a day. Not sure, if that’s the information you’re looking for, but I could easily do 48 hours without negative impact on my well being. I don’t do “real” fasting, but my body is really forgoving in the meantime. I don’t feel hangry or tired. If I can’t get my food in time, I’ll just get it later. Sometimes it feels like a tiny superpower compared to other people who sometimes seem to really suffer in such situations.

5·3 months agoI’m on a vegan diet and I would say that I eat quite a big variety of food. Many vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, rice, quinoa, chick peas, pasta variations, also some meat alternatives, soy yoghurt etc. I rarely eat exactly the same meal twice, but improvise a lot.

17·3 months agoI only eat once a day for years now. Not really for weight loss, but rather because it saves a lot of time and allows me to spend more time on preparing one really satisfying and healthy meal instead of just snacks and fast food. I still eat sweets and stuff if I feel like, but it’s easier to control and keep track of nutrients etc.

Also came here to see the ingredients of the salad. :D
