Linux@lemmy.ml•Would it be possible to dumb down a linux phone?
2·1 month agoI recently asked for advice about making a PiPhone, if you’re interested in going that route.
(I’m still trying to figure out the best approach, but my research is slow due to a million projects and no time.)

Privacy@lemmy.ml•I'm questioning the privacy focused choices that I made
3·2 months agoThanks to OP for sharing this cautionary tale and thanks to everybody in here giving helpful advice.
I would like to self-host everything but y’all are scaring me off email.

Here’s one way that liberal fascism maintains control:
- Maintain control of everything
- If control is lost, create mass hysteria about “social media”, “kids,” “addiction”, “islam”, “immigration”, whatever, etc.
- Steamroll everything.
- Regain control.
It’s how they got TikTok, etc. It’s how they’ll try to get Lemmy, Linux, VPNs, etc. The wild part is how many lib “allies” will fully support this.
Yes, it’s a trap like everything else. It’s another front in the struggle.
I think the best frontend for whatsapp is the trash.
Find a better option. Probably Signal/Molly.

Pretty sure social credit actually exists tho. No? It’s a fairy tale? smh.
WOOOSH!
They’re high-fiving themselves about being able to buy a house. DUR.
Under capitalism basic human needs are allocated only to the most privileged.
Many many libs celebrate their participation in this privilege, especially in terms of housing.
State-enforced privilege is basically the entire goal of liberalism.
In a world where credit is allocated on the basis of trust,
lol jfc. What world are you talking about?
Credit is allocated based on people printing money, starting wars, murdering people, etc.
Yes like every state. Capitalism is entirely based on the violent control of people and things.
I love my country,
Not even sure how to respond to this kind of vague emotional ideology. When people say this to me in person, I back away slowly.

2·3 months agoYeah that’s why fascism is winning. Nobody is willing to stand up to the fascists.

13·3 months agoYou would lose all the worthless proprietary software that you’re hoarding for no reason.

Linux@lemmy.ml•why do you think linux is better than windows?
4·3 months agoI use Windows at work. It’s not a personal computer. It’s a computer controlled by microsoft, capital, etc.
In my personal life I prefer freedom and control.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Proton has ties to Israel. What's a safe alternative?
65·3 months agoNot sure why people would downvote this completely reasonable question.
Unfortunately I don’t know of any VPN services that actively oppose genocide. I would like to know as well.
It’s part of the misery of living in the imperial core. The whole of capitalism is based on genocide, etc.
