When SmartBCH launched, I was right there from the start! 😂 I managed to get some tokens, swap a bit to BCH, and bridged my BCH to SmartBCH to grab more tokens on the network.
But then life happened, and I stepped away from crypto for a while. When I came back, the whole Coinflex drama hit—meaning I couldn’t bridge my SmartBCH tokens back to BCH. Sure, there were other bridging options, but I just let it be, hoping Coinflex would bounce back. Years passed… and nope, still nothing.
I got eager to actually use my SmartBCH tokens instead of letting them gather dust. It wasn’t a huge amount, but I wanted it working for me. After hunting around for ways to bridge, I stumbled on bit.com. I was hesitant at first, but figured—why not give it a shot?
So today, I downloaded the bit.com app and transferred my SmartBCH from MetaMask. After some exploring, I saw I could trade SmartBCH for USDT, then USDT for BCH. But holy moly, the exchange rate shocked me—1 SBCH was only worth about 0.72 BCH! That meant my .10877506 SBCH, which once felt like $64.78, was going to drop in value.
I paused, wondering if it was better to just leave it there. But the urge to do something won. I decided to trade anyway, thinking I could use the BCH proceeds to buy Cashtokens on Cauldron and maybe turn a profit to make up for the loss. Hey, no risk no reward, right?
So, I traded my $64.78 SBCH and got $46.70 back—about an $18 loss. I converted that immediately to BCH (.0783675 BCH), then withdrew.0779675 BCH to my wallet.
It’s not perfect, but better than just letting the tokens sit idle. Here’s hoping this move pays off! 🚀
**Short Lesson: ** Sometimes crypto investments don’t go as planned—technical issues, platform shutdowns, or unexpected losses. But rather than letting your assets sit unused, exploring new ways to put them to work can turn setbacks into opportunities. Taking action, even in small steps, keeps you moving forward and learning in the ever-changing crypto world.
Still doesn’t work for me, I dunno why… “Failed. Something unpredictable has happened. Try later.” This is the same prompt earlier when I was trying to save it as a draft or click the publish button. I guess it might not work for me because my account has been long inactive there.
