The user has since changed their name to just “₿𝖆𝖗𝖗𝖎𝖔” and also their logo has changed. (https://memo.cash/a/02000c5b0b)
This user has been observed replacing real vendors’ BCH addresses with his own to try to collect funds.
They also post edited images as if they were real.

Hello sir, here is the owner of the original Barrio Bitcoin where my fren Javier took inspiration from
The original Barrio Bitcoin was founded in 2018 in Barcelona Spain then was reopened after a funding round via flipstarter in early 2023
Javier is a guy from that neighborhood who is living their all his life, he is well known and I have seen him as a respected person in his neighborhood working hard to feed his children and wife, he is a designer, he actually designed the stickers that you can see on that photo above
Funny enough the photo was taken by me myself and Javier did copy the content of one of my tweets, you can find that tweet on one of my twitter profiles most likely @realbitcoinclub or @barriobitcoin
So I as the original creator of @barriobitcoin I own that twitter account and javier you can find him on @barriobitcoinVE
First I will talk to him, that he should probably not use the exact same handle I am using, but on the other hand, I am happy my friend did that and not anyone else, so to tell you in Venezuela things are very different, people do not care much about patents or copyrights or whatever, Javier also whenver he designed some stickers for me he just handed over the sources and didnt claim any copyrights nothing
I borrowed some computer equipment to Javier and he even has a backup key to my house while I am at BCH Beach
So I would never ever believe that Javier has done any attempt to scam anyone here in that manner mentioned above
I also know the merchants, I did onboard them and Javier is keeping them busy going there once in a while to spend and keep them updated while I am at BCH Beach he is maintaining Barrio Bitcoin
Okey now, whatever might happen, I think this story is quite interesting and quite telling, from a simple misunderstanding things can go horribly wrong and BCH users can learn to forgive and understand each other better, in the end we have a common goal to bring BitcoinCash forward and so we should be careful with any accusations until there is substantial proof for a long period of time
If someone does not like the others approach the first choice is always to ignore them, only if its really worth to make some noise because the scam is so blatantly obvious then I would recommend list people here in that section
Enjoy the sunshine and I hope to see you CashDragon in Venezuela BarrioBitcoin one day and we can invite you to show you around at BCH Beach too
Thanks for your input. This can be simple resolved by the following method.
Have him send a transaction from the public vendor address to the address in question, then we can know it likely belongs to the same person. If both truly belong to the vendor there should be no difficulty in doing this.
Barrio Bitcoin initially provided this address as belonging to the vendor
Then when asked to show a more authentic version he provided
Send 0.00123 BCH from qrtkgqgffnhjd69s43nxwwdf8wwde82vscjn4hw4ky to qzy7w8l5832gwu02xkxpygtalplw50367szwe7jrq3
Once this is done he will be removed from the suspected scammers list and I will donate 0.1 BCH to the vendor as well as to him if he provides a good quality picture of the vendor’s readable QR including vendor logo in the same unedited picture.

I doubt that many people will care but just to have it there in an immutable fashion where nobody can censor or manipulate contexts
CashDragon, please remove your pledge from my fundme campaign, I really dont want any of your donation anymore ever again
As soon as I suggest a simple way to prove that Barrio Bitcoin is innocent you shut down the conversation. Interesting…
