It’s not a solution. It’s not easy, and definitively not easier than solving our projects down here on earth. It’s like, instead of repairing your leaky roof you go out and plan to build an underwater waterproof habitat dome for yourself
Yeah I mean it’s probably possible to live underground on Mars (assuming an infinite budget) but there’s not a lot of compelling reason to dig on Mars instead of just… On earth.
As Zach Weinersmith said in his book A City on Mars, “Leaving 2C warmer Earth for Mars would be like leaving a messy room so you can live in a toxic waste dump.”
Why would they need to rebuild the city when they own the entire planet with regulatory capture, and a whole ass army? Never thought once about how weird it was that a private company had a military.

You play as a blonde spike who can’t remember anything so you follow a group of people and commit a slight bit of eco-terrorism while joining up with some talking animals. You can make birds fuck so you can race them and then you fight a half angel.
Oh right. I did make birds fuck. And that girl died and I lost all the items she was carrying.
Those of us that know now remove as much of her equipment as possible before it happens. I like to think the girl now knows it’s coming too, or is deeply concerned about being asked to go into battle with her starting gear again
The next remake entry will patch that, and be titled: Final Fantasy 7: Realizing the Potential to Loot The Girl’s Items When She Is Found Deceased
