I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said. After a couple hours I’ve kinda decided the game isn’t for me. I usually really enjoy survivor-likes (is that the right term?) but this one isn’t really for me. I think its hype is kinda overblown simply for the humor in the game and less so the quality of the mechanics. If you haven’t played Halls of Torment before I highly suggest that game. Has a lot more build variety imo, with a better unlock system and a better game loop.
Nice to see someone mention that one. I really grabbed onto it after vampire survivors because it felt like the levels actually mattered. Not just memorizing (and later knowing) where the free upgrades were in survivors, but actually interacting with the level as if it had a story.
