Sure bud, but yes the other meaning is pretty clear too, which is a homophobic slur. The claim I made is that war crimes are conducted in the interest of ethnic cleansing and that the regime isn’t even hiding it, Poroshenko was very open about the intent. It’s just trolls like you in the west who pretend it’s something else. Russia didn’t need to fabricate anything. You’re just a deeply dishonest individual. Go do you trolling back on your fed instance where people aren’t going to call out your bullshit.

Список підарасів is the Ukrainian equivalent of an enemies list, a common expression for people who have wronged you. The homophobic origin of the word is about as relevant to the meaning as calling someone a bastard is to questioning their parentage. It’s also a mass produced novelty you can buy online for 350 hryvnias, which Babel covered as a lighthearted story and Bohdan publicly joked about. Not exactly how fascists operate their roundup lists.

lmao no that’s not what it means, it means a list of fwords and nobody with even a modicum of intellectual integrity would translate it as a list of bastards. You’re so bad at this. It’s like when you trolls call nazi tattoos Hindu symbols. 🤣

Funny how it started as a list of subraces proving ethnic cleansing and is now just a homophobic slur. You moved the goalposts so far you’re in a different stadium. The word derives from педераст, which got slurred into пидорас in Russian street speech, then borrowed into Ukrainian as підарас. At that point it had already lost its literal meaning and became a general insult, the same way bastard stopped meaning someone born out of wedlock and asshole stopped being anatomical. That semantic drift is not a debating trick, it is just how language works, though I understand that might be a new concept.

I started with what Firefox translates, but I’m humoring your interpretation which isn’t any better. I didn’t move any goalposts, I’m simply pointing out that no matter how you try to spin this, it’s obviously Budanov referring to people he sees as subhuman. And it’s hilarious how you keep trying to whitewash this. Next, you’re gonna tell me homophobia isn’t prevalent in Ukraine. 🤣
