Hot take(?): those panels that slide in as you scroll serve no purpose and are a detriment to the browsing experience.

Yet again, 3-rd party stuff disabled makes the experience not worse.

They aren’t writing their own kernel, so that should help. Could be interesting for keeping Intel macs going strong after apple drops support.

I’m super into it. I’m a UNIX nerd at heart and kind of wish it would become more popular than Linux (with most of its distros a hodgepodge of files everywhere), and for the desktop I really enjoy macOS. I’m excited to see where this might go.

I’d like to see this with Gershwin DE on top. They feel made for each other.

Gershwin’s wiki and git repo list the ghostbsd variant as outdated, but in my experience it is also the only one that works out of the box.

Even if this pans out which would be pretty interesting I guess, what’s even the point? I’m assuming you wouldn’t be able to acess the App Store and I honestly doing know that many programs that run on macOS and not Linux that would be useful in Linux that aren’t in the App Store.

I develop on a MBP and have exactly 0 App Store apps.

I like the environment and the hardware but I’m not stuck with “Apple”

That’s like my whole point. Any apps not on the App Store are much more likely to have a native Linux version already or be specific to macOS in a way that wouldn’t be useful on Linux so why would I care about macOS program support? I’d only want it for something like logic for example or I’d just use all Linux packaged stuff.

Did you know that MacOS isn’t a Linux distribution?

Are you aware this is also not a Linux distribution?
