The Mars stuff was just a push again more valuation for SpaceX. Despite the fact that other scientists including people at NASA saying that his plan was not going to work, everything he said was just a publicity stunt to push investors so he can make an imaginary number go up.
Also he was fired from PayPal for incompetence.

I thought the same. Everything else worked, but for whatever reason, only GOG didn’t. I actually still have the photo saved from it. I find errors about it dating back at least 2009. At the time I was looking into it, I found it was a common thing from some example code. And it wasn’t even new to GOG; the old installer had the same problem. Might be different, but when they launched what I think is their current launcher, it was still using example code from pre-Windows Vista days. This was 2020 I reach out to them, because my user files were mapped to a NAS, and the legacy example code they used didn’t support this. Steam has no issues. Epic had no issues.
All the people wondering why they don’t support Linux… Well that’s because they use outdated Windows code for their launcher.
When I was still playing Nintendo games up to the switch, my games were physical.
On PC I have steam. But I still have various install discs from years gone by.
And I have various CDs, DVDs and blu-rays.
I don’t have any streaming subscription services. I canceled all of them a long time ago
Steam isn’t what had the issue. It was the payment processor. You can tell because multiple digital storefronts all died at the same time.

But the games aren’t the same price. And the policies ran by the companies aren’t the same. I don’t think Valve has ever said they’re going to break your steam deck if you use it in a way they haven’t deemed fit. And I’d question if you can mod games on the switch, like even games that normally support it.
Ok, so re-install Steam! 😆 Pretty sure what I got was Snap. I was presented an App installer thing that kinda reminded me of the Microsoft Store (except, way less laggy). I think I remember seeing the word Snap.
Is there a way to verify that I have the right drivers for the video card? When it comes to GUI, I have a very Windows mindset, where I need to install the proper drivers, else I get the basic “well it works” drivers which aren’t good for gaming.
I just built a new machine, for a time I’ll try some Steam on Linux. For the latest version of Ubuntu and an Intel 570. No idea what I’m doing, lol. (Normally just use Linux server).
If I remember correctly it largely started because of some joking comment by some famous person decades ago. And because of early internet it was a early form of meme. It was something you repeated, it was the cool funny thing to say. And then I think people started to forget that they weren’t to take it seriously. So they start saying they hated a band and had absolutely no idea why other than ‘that’s just what you say’
That is an incredible list. Did a find for a few things I personally knew about and have always been disappointed in Obama for… and sure enough found them. First one I searched, was extending the Bush tax cuts on the rich. Which only works for now. They’ve already gotten you to be ok with the upcharge price for the “smart” hardware. Soon they’re going to require online activation for “reasons”. So choosing to not connect it won’t work. And they’ll do regular ad connection checks and if it fails to update ads after so much time the TV will prompt an error to please correct the network.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. When they release their latest launcher (2019), it still had example code from the Windows Vista days. Using extremely old libraries to manage storage I believe (or at least accessing storage). So they can’t even actually develop a launcher for Windows. When I messaged then about it, they didn’t care.
