I thought the Mecha Comet wasn’t a phone but apparently it has a 4G modem module. I am interested.
DIY Phone
Use the Comet and the Linux stack for calling*, messaging and mobile data as an alternate to your walled and closed smartphone. Contribute to the Linux ecosystem for mobiles.
- No earpiece but the front speaker can do the trick.
Limited to speakerphone, as it stands. Maybe someone will make an attachment that uses the GPIO pins to add an earpiece. Since the GPIO pins are on the bottom guessing that might be a little unwieldy though.
Looks like it’s not fully functional yet. This was one of the most difficult parts dealing with Linux phones.

as far as the speakerphone thing, I’m fine either using Bluetooth or the 3.5 mm headphone jack. But that’s just me. It would be a hassle having to out something just to pick up a call but hopefully someone has a better solution like the one you suggested.
USA? No thanks
Wdym?
Mecha Systems is a USA based company. Since USA is actively destroying relations around the globe, and threatening sovereignty , there is no way I’d buy this even though it’s a neat idea.

Ummm
Ummm India is part of America.

na you’re missing something
