Starting to feel like r/Monero is becoming like r/Bitcoin, mods removing anything related to issues with Monero.

    I agree and have posted about this for a long time. If it’s not overzealous mods, it’s all of the censoring by the bots created by either the mods or Reddit itself. I cannot understand why the entire r/monero community doesn’t migrate over here and dispense with Reddit, a company that is paid by Google for all of the great posts we make over there for free, and then Google uses all of our answers to train Gemini.

      Yes, migrating away from big tech should be a high priority for every community. The least they could do it put a sticky post directing people to monero.town or even start their own instance.

    The cheap monero was nice but I think people are now aware of what’s going on and don’t care to spread misleading info.

        For an “attack” it doesn’t really seem to be working. People who use xmr don’t seem to really care, no harm has been done.

        Maybe I’m not understanding it correctly but they claim txs have been invalidated, yet no double spends, that seems like a contradiction… Either the txs are processed and thus they did not become invalidated or if they became invalid, they have been double spent.

        I see no evidence of double spending, but if you know of some please share. From my understanding they are getting better then average luck with mining rewards but that’s not really the same thing as a 51% attack.

        I dont really agree with censoring the posts but redditers gonna reddit.

          They are disrupting services that use Monero, orphaning miners’ blocks and devs are trying to figure out how to stop it, so I would call it an attack.

          There are multiple ways an attack can manifest it does not have to be a double spend only to cause problems.

          Figured the Monero community was not so prone to censor. Does not inspire confidence.

            I can’t recall ever seeing an ecommerce website that honors a monero deposit after just 10 confirmations. they all wait for way more before crediting the customer’s balance.

            Are they really though? I mean what services are they actually disrupting, Ive made several xmr payments without probkems, in the past few days including during the alleged reorg.

            Yeah they are getting lucky and being selfish, but not technically breaking anything

            devs are trying to figure out how to stop it, so I would call it an attack.

            That’s a fair point, I think “attack” is giving too much credit, its more like rudely taking advantage of how mining works.

            I think a good portion of the attention to this is being paid for by qubit and driven by bots, it doesn’t seem to be working and can’t really last.

            Censorship is never good though.
