    I guess technically it can be a 2+1 highway if you so will, but true.

    Still, anything above 4 lanes is dangerously close to mental illness territory

          yes. calling more than two lanes each direction being “mental illness” screams “i have never been in a crowd”

              While I agree in general, there’s still the last bit from the station to home. I can only get a hundred pounds of kitty litter on my trike. If I need to haul more, I need an (hopefully electric) automobile. I just finished buying everything for a project I’ve been designing for a few years. If I had taken public transit, it would have taken 3 or 4 trips.

            Right. So I live in an apartment in the capital of my country, where transit moves far more people than the highways ever does.
